Others travel to visit the past and get a glimpse of history.
If the train travel is a family vacation choose a direct route to avoid any stress of transferring baggage and taking care of the kids. If you wanted to insert a little bit of sightseeing then perhaps do a little research for picturesque destination.
Children under two years old are free if they would share a parent’s seat but if you prefer to get a seat you should consider the practicality of such a choice. Sleeper car is practical especially if the travel takes more than 6 hours and overnight. This kind of train accommodation is very much conducive when traveling with family and with the children.
A first time long train travel is not really practical; I suggest that you bring your kids for a few hours ride of the train so to familiarize the family of using this kind of transportation before taking the whole family into a train travel vacation. The advantage of test train travel with kids is for parents to foresee and prepare things that children would possibly need on travel.
There is indeed a big difference with traveling on train and air travel. In train travel, you can pack a few toys to occupy children while on train. Of course, the space is much for wider compared to air travel.
