A Love Story on a Train Travel
December 16th, 2009 Posted in Train Travel TipsIt all started on a train dining car. It was an autumn ride across Europe. The scenery is great. The weather is splendid. Europe at that is welcoming. The ride, efficient, fast, comfortable and simply magical. A hot hand in my hand with a new bought book written by Khalil Gibran. It was a good book to peruse and spend time on while it is dark outside for you to see the scenery and that is if the noise and camaraderie in the train dining car won’t entice you to join the laughter and easy companionship.
I was holding my coffee when suddenly a jolt poured half of the content on somebody’s lap. I was sorry and said so. I appreciated it so much when the person I transgressed of is such a very nice man and showed so.
The incident inside the train started a conversation and a friendship. It started with seeing the mountains and the foliage together. And it spurred into comparing notes of the countries and culture that we had experienced. The rail passes that we had and have. The favorites and not so favorites. We talked about so many things and so many ideas.
We have not only talked but traveled together as friends. For 10 longs years; we had visited Germany and Spain, Italy and Rome. We had explored countries and culture together. We got disappointed sometimes and sometimes euphoric of our discovery.
Europe is such a great continent for travel itineraries. No wonder rail travel guide is very salable. It renews the spirit and the soul. Travel makes the traveler young. Train travel makes the traveler fonder.
Our first train travel going through Spanish cities and towns took my breath away. Every beach is history in the making. Every winter spent in a Spanish city is worth reminiscing for. Train travel made my life worth living for.
